Retrieve up to date assessor data - PeopleGIS

OVERVIEW

Department staff need to know who the current owner of a parcel is. The Assessor office may be able to provide this through Patriot Properties but here is a self supported way to do get this information.

There is a daily export from the Assessor Database that is provided to PeopleGIS to populate their GIS system. This is public data that is current to the previous day.

PROCEDURE

The user can scroll/zoom into the map to identify a location of interest, or use the Find button (#3 in the image above).

In the Find Function the following attributes can be searched for:

Owner - formatted as text
Parcel ID -formatted as ##-####-### where the first set of 3 numbers is the Map#, the middle set of 4 is the Lot number and the final set of three is used to identify a Unit in a condominium, all three of these values are separated by a hyphen '-'
Street Address - entered as the Street name and then a street number

Each one of these attributes will be used with a partial entry:

Entering "David" in the Owner field will return all entries with "David" in the owner field

Entering "35" in the Parcel ID field will return all entries with "35" in the Parcel_ID field, this would identify all of the parcels where the Map# is 35, but also identify any entry that has "35" in the Lot number as well.

To search for just Map# "35" enter "35-" for the system to only return Map 35 entries.

Entering the Street name, from the drop down list, will return all parcels on that street in numerical order by street number.

After searching the Results Summary table will appear; it may contain a single entry if a single location was searched for, or a table of every parcel on a street, or a table of every entry that validated the search term. The Parcel ID column entries (in orange font) are live links to click to learn about a specific location.

Once the location of interest has been identified the system will

1) highlight the location on the map

2) populate a Detail Information table in the left column towards the bottom with the current data that PeopleGIS has been provided.

In the below example 10 Dearborn Lane has been chosen so the Parcel is highlighted and the table of information about the property is fulfilled.

This is one of the most efficient ways that any one can access current Assessor Data on a property in Salem.
